PLTR Stock Price Forecast: Goldman Sachs Raises Target to $230, May Push Shares Past $200

Source Tradingkey

TradingKey - Ahead of the market open on October 8 ET, Goldman Sachs analyst Gabriela Borges upgraded Palantir (PLTR) to Buy with a price target of $230. Based on the closing price of $194.12 on October 7, this target represents a potential upside of approximately 18.5%.

Goldman Sachs believes that Palantir still has potential to outperform the market entering 2027, driven by the ongoing expansion of the company's total addressable market and its existing competitive advantages that enable it to capture growing demand for AI software.

Goldman Sachs highlighted three primary drivers in this adjustment: sovereign AI, customized AI applications, and Palantir's industry verticalization strategy. As demand increases among government and enterprise clients for independently deployed AI systems, sector-specific applications, and data security, Palantir's software platform coverage is expanding beyond traditional government projects to commercial clients and industry solutions.

From a business metrics perspective, Palantir's revenue run-rate has reached an annualized level of approximately $8 billion, with revenue growing about 79% year-over-year over the past 12 months. Goldman Sachs believes that if the company maintains a high growth rate, the expansion of its total addressable market could provide room for subsequent revenue growth. However, the $230 target is a valuation objective set by the analyst based on future growth assumptions, and actual stock price performance will still depend on whether commercial client growth, contract values, and revenue growth meet expectations.

Following the announcement, PLTR shares rose over 2% in pre-market trading to above $198, indicating a positive market price response to the rating upgrade. However, as the stock price is also approaching the $200 psychological level and previous highs, whether it can continue to rise in the short term still needs to be observed alongside technical factors.

From a technical perspective, if the stock's performance after today's open continues its pre-market momentum, it will break above the recent consolidation high of $194.68, further opening up upside potential. The primary upside target will be testing the $200 mark; if broken, the stock will further test its all-time high of $207.52.
