Top 3 Price Prediction: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple – BTC reclaims $83,500, ETH takes back 50-day EMA, XRP holds support

Source Fxstreet
  • Bitcoin reclaims the $83,500 mark on Monday after correcting below $81,000 last week.
  • Ethereum closes above the 50-day EMA at $2,505; if it holds, it could extend the recovery.
  • XRP consolidates, finding support around the EMA cluster at $1.380.

Bitcoin (BTC) takes back $83,500 on Monday after a sharp correction, with the Crypto King slipping below $81,000 the previous week. Ethereum (ETH) and Ripple (XRP) followed BTC’s footsteps, recovering and reclaiming the $2,500 and $1.400 marks after a pullback last week. The price action of these top three cryptocurrencies suggests upside traction is losing steam even as the broader structure remains supported.

Bitcoin bulls retain a constructive bias

Bitcoin price trades at $83,688 on Monday, retaining a constructive bullish bias as it holds well above the 50-day, 100-day and 200-day exponential moving averages (EMAs) clustered between roughly $75,700 and $80,200.

The mildly positive Relative Strength Index (RSI) around 55 hints at steady but not overstretched upside momentum, while the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator remains below the zero line, suggesting that the latest recovery is still correcting prior weakness rather than marking an outright momentum breakout.

On the topside, immediate resistance aligns with the horizontal barrier at $85,000, where a daily close above would open the way for a more decisive continuation of the uptrend.

On the downside, initial dynamic support appears at the 50-day EMA near $80,195, followed by the 100-day EMA at $76,411 and the 200-day EMA at $75,744; a deeper pullback could then target earlier horizontal cushions at $66,500 and $62,300, which guard the broader bullish structure.

Ethereum shows waning bullish pressure

Ethereum price trades at $2,543 on Monday, holding a constructive near-term bias as it remains above the 50-day, 100-day and 200-day EMAs clustered between roughly $2,307 and $2,505. This positioning suggests the broader uptrend remains intact, even as momentum has cooled, with the RSI easing toward a neutral 45 and the MACD remaining negative and below its signal line, hinting at waning bullish pressure rather than a decisive trend reversal.

On the upside, initial resistance emerges at the horizontal barrier near $2,800, ahead of a stronger cap at $3,000, where selling interest could intensify if the recovery extends.

On the downside, immediate support is reinforced by the 50-day EMA at $2,505 and the horizontal level at $2,500, followed by the 100-day EMA around $2,351 and the 200-day EMA near $2,307; a sustained break below this EMA band would expose deeper support at $2,000 and then $1,385.

XRP’s upside traction is losing steam

XRP price trades at $1.404 on Monday and maintains a mildly bullish bias as price holds above the 50-day EMA at $1.399, with the 100-day EMA at $1.340 and the 200-day EMA at $1.384 reinforcing an underlying demand zone beneath the market. However, momentum has softened, with the RSI slipping to 44 and the MACD extending slightly deeper into negative territory, suggesting upside traction is losing steam even as the broader structure remains supported.

On the downside, immediate support is seen just under the market at the 50-day EMA around $1.400, followed by the 200-day EMA at $1.384; a break below these would expose the 100-day EMA at $1.340 and then the horizontal floor at $1.300, ahead of more distant structural support at $1.000.

On the topside, the next significant resistance is the horizontal barrier at $1.671, with an additional hurdle at $1.900; unless buyers can reclaim these overhead levels, XRP is likely to stay in a consolidative phase despite its bullish positioning above the key moving averages.

Cryptocurrency prices FAQs

Token launches influence demand and adoption among market participants. Listings on crypto exchanges deepen the liquidity for an asset and add new participants to an asset’s network. This is typically bullish for a digital asset.

A hack is an event in which an attacker captures a large volume of the asset from a DeFi bridge or hot wallet of an exchange or any other crypto platform via exploits, bugs or other methods. The exploiter then transfers these tokens out of the exchange platforms to ultimately sell or swap the assets for other cryptocurrencies or stablecoins. Such events often involve an en masse panic triggering a sell-off in the affected assets.

Macroeconomic events like the US Federal Reserve’s decision on interest rates influence crypto assets mainly through the direct impact they have on the US Dollar. An increase in interest rate typically negatively influences Bitcoin and altcoin prices, and vice versa. If the US Dollar index declines, risk assets and associated leverage for trading gets cheaper, in turn driving crypto prices higher.

Halvings are typically considered bullish events as they slash the block reward in half for miners, constricting the supply of the asset. At consistent demand if the supply reduces, the asset’s price climbs.
