SpaceX AI's Grok Bot artificial intelligence agent surpassed 400,000 weekly active users about a month after its launch, a figure indicating modest initial market demand for the product. On-site presentation materials showed that as of September 14, Grok Bot's user count reached 418,000, up 24% from the prior week. SpaceX's artificial intelligence division launched Grok Bot in mid-August to address growing competition in the AI agent market and catch up with Anthropic PBC and OpenAI. Grok Bot is designed to function more like a 24/7 employee rather than a chatbot.

Richmond Fed President Barkin: It Will Take Time for Inflation Pressures to Subside

Tom Barkin, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, warned that the current inflation shock may take some time to dissipate, and that persistently high price pressures risk becoming embedded into long-term inflation. He stated that the Federal Reserve's rate hike last week would help bring down inflation, but gave no clear signal on whether further policy tightening would be required. He noted that supply shocks are no longer one-off or transitory, and price pressures are persisting throughout the economy. "These shocks may fade over time, but I do expect it to take time," Barkin said. "In the meantime, there is a risk that currently elevated inflation levels will impact future inflation."
