AI startup Wonderful doubles valuation to $5 billion in latest funding round

Wonderful, an Israeli-Dutch enterprise AI startup, closed a $550 million Series C funding round on September 2 at a $5 billion valuation, more than double the $2 billion it was worth when it raised its Series B in March.

Capital seems to be flowing quickly to startups that are selling the plumbing for large companies to run AI across their whole operation and not for only one department.

Insight leads the round, Salesforce joins as new investor

Insight Partners led the latest round, its second time backing the startup, according to the press release. Salesforce came into the round as a new investor and existing backers like Index Ventures, IVP, Vine Ventures, 9Yards, and Bessemer Venture Partners all returned.

Jeff Horing, co-founder and managing director of Insight Partners, stated that the firm had watched the team ship “highly successful early deployments to production at some of the world’s largest enterprises.” “Wonderful is pursuing one of the largest opportunities in enterprise AI,” he said in the announcement.

Insight manages more than $90 billion in regulatory assets as of December 31, 2025, and has invested in over 900 companies, per the press release.

From customer-service bots to an “AI OS”

Wonderful was founded in early 2025 and grew fast, releasing an initial customer-service AI agent product tuned for non-English-speaking markets. The startup paired that with teams of engineers who embedded with clients, sometimes on-site, to wire this technology into existing systems.

This deployment model persisted, but the company graduated from that product. The company now sells what it calls the Wonderful AI OS, a layer meant to coordinate agents, workflows, AI-native applications, company data, and all existing integrations. This OS is model-agnostic and works with a customer’s current tech stack, according to TechCrunch and the company’s statement.

Roey Lalazar, Wonderful’s CTO and co-founder, claims customers can “adopt whichever parts of the platform make the most sense, integrate them with existing systems, choose the best models for each workload, and retain ownership of everything they build.”

The AI Operating System pitch

CEO and co-founder Bar Winkler compared the current moment and product to the rise of cloud computing. “Just as cloud platforms became the foundation of the modern enterprise, AI operating systems will become the foundation of every enterprise,” he said in the release, warning that without a shared layer, AI “risks recreating the sprawl of traditional SaaS.”

Since March, Wonderful says it has made its way into more than 35 markets, and the startup has grown to a total of 650 employees. The Times reported that the fresh capital would go toward the development of its products, which customers use to automate workflow and create their own AI tools.

The startup also stated that the $550 million will fund faster product development, larger forward-deployed engineering teams, and a rising demand for the platform.
