Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE) has had an incredible run thus far in 2026, with shares climbing 149% as of this writing. That said, what's even more incredible is that, even with that run-up, Bloom Energy is still trading down 38% from its 52-week high of roughly $351 per share.

For what could be ahead, stock price forecasts suggest there could still be some more upside over the next year.

What a $5,000 investment could be worth

For what a $5,000 investment in Bloom could be worth by August 2027, we'll start with the Aug. 25 closing price of $217.45. Through fractional investing, a $5,000 investment in Bloom would get you just under 23 shares.

Of the 33 analysts who cover Bloom and are tracked by CNN, the median one-year price target is $295. If Bloom were to reach that price target, that would be a gain of 35.6% from the Aug. 25 closing price of $217.45. That $5,000 investment would then be worth approximately $6,782 for a profit of $1,782.

What price targets indicate for Bloom Energy

Price targets aren't a guarantee of how a stock will perform. But they do help highlight expectations, allowing investors to weigh risk against potential reward.

The company has a unique role in the age of artificial intelligence: Its on-site power hardware helps offset power bottlenecks. That equates to big business, as Bloom just reported in its 2026 second-quarter earnings report that quarterly revenue surpassed $1 billion for the first time.

Having said that, as Bloom continues to report strong results, it's going to become increasingly difficult for it to impress the markets. And the median price target suggests expectations should be tempered. It's still a company worth owning for the long term for more aggressive investors, but at this point, expecting monster gains year in and year out will only lead to disappointment.
