World launches new super app with Stripe, Kalshi, and payment integration

World, the identity project formerly known as Worldcoin, launched its financial super app called World Money today across over 150 countries. The self-custodial wallet brings stablecoins, payments, yield, and investing into one app, with integrations for services including Stripe, Kalshi, and Morpho. The launch aims to give World ID holders access to new financial service uses for their digital identity and adds to the growing push to make stablecoins a part of everyday spending.

The super app lets users hold dollar-linked and local-currency stablecoins, send money to other users by username, earn yield on their balances, and trade assets, all from the app. Transfers between users are expected to typically settle within seconds and will be mostly free. Users will be able to deposit using Worldcoin (WLD), USDC, EURC, and several other wrapped currencies, and the super app will hold funds in eight different currencies.

Because World Money is self-custodial, users keep control of their own keys, while World never takes custody of their funds.

Stripe and Morpho integration

Stripe provides a new U.S. funding option that lets users convert money from Apple Pay into stablecoins, typically within minutes. For users looking to earn on those balances, World Money uses Morpho, a decentralized lending protocol where stablecoins can earn variable, non-guaranteed returns. World cautions that these Earn balances are not bank deposits or FDIC-insured accounts, and users could lose some or all of their deposited funds.

The World Money app also offers virtual accounts through the Stripe-owned Bridge, allowing users to receive payroll deposits and bank transfers that are automatically converted into stablecoins. Other integrations include Kalshi the regulated prediction-market operator.

World ID as World Money selling point

Identity is a big part of World’s pitch. Users who verify with a World ID get a limited-time boost on eligible Earn programs, and World is selling its human-verification system as the core feature that sets it apart from competitors.

World’s identity system is central to the future evolution of the newly launched World Money super app. The company argues that as AI makes fake accounts easier to create and harder to spot, proving that an account belongs to a real person could become increasingly important for financial services. In that sense, World sees its network of verified users as a way to add a layer of trust that traditional payment systems cannot easily provide.

That identity layer is one of the main differences between World and its competitors, as none of them combine their financial services with a sybil-resistant identity credential based on an iris scan. Circle has continued to expand USDC’s reach, Stripe bought Bridge, while PayPal has launched its own stablecoin.

World’s evolution from orb scans to financial platform

World is run by Tools for Humanity, the company co-founded by Alex Blania and OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman. The project’s idea was pretty straightforward when it launched as Worldcoin in 2023, which involved scanning the iris with an Orb, and subsequently acquiring a World ID and some free WLD.

The evolution into creating a financial super app began in March 2025, when World added crypto payments and a chat feature that let users send money directly via conversations. A few months later, Circle launched native USDC on the platform, replacing the bridged version previously used in World App wallets.

WLD was trading around $0.38 at the time of writing, up about 4% over the past 24 hours.
