Paid artificial intelligence product annual recurring revenue reached over $400 million.
RingCentral reduced gross debt under $1 billion ahead of schedule.
Free cash flow reached $157 million in the third quarter.
On its third quarter of 2026 earnings call, held on Oct. 22, 2026, RingCentral (NYSE:RNG) announced that customers using at least one paid artificial intelligence product reached over $400 million in annual recurring revenue, or predictable subscription revenue annualized. Higher average spending and stronger account retention in this group create a durable foundation for long-term cash generation.
Three things management said on the call stand out.
Customers adopting paid artificial intelligence tools renew at higher rates and generate higher annualized revenue per user (ARR). Higher net retention, or the percentage of recurring revenue retained from existing customers, helps turn product expansion into durable profit margins.
RingCentral AI, which we define as customers using at least 1 native paid AI product, now represent approximately 15% of total ARR or over $400 million. Doubling year over year. This cohort of customers also has meaningfully higher ARPU and net retention.
-- Vladimir G. Shmunis, Founder, Chairman and CEO
Repaying high-cost callable debt lowers interest obligations and strengthens the balance sheet. Reducing RingCentral's total obligations gives management flexibility to return capital to shareholders through share buybacks while funding product development internally.
Free cash flow generation remains strong, which enabled us to reach an important milestone of reducing gross debt to under $1 billion as of today, which is ahead of schedule.
-- Vladimir G. Shmunis, Founder, Chairman and CEO
Running artificial intelligence features increases computing requirements, but disciplined pricing and efficient model selection keep direct costs under control. Maintaining a high subscription gross margin, or the percentage of revenue remaining after direct costs, ensures that RingCentral's revenue growth translates into cash flow.
And our gross margins on AI products are generally holding in line with the corporate average as well. And, really, we are optimizing with 2 levers there. One is pricing, and the other one is cost.
-- Vaibhav Agarwal, CFO
Subscription revenue and free cash flow generation continue to expand, giving RingCentral headroom to execute its growth strategy. Management points to improving unit economics across its cloud communications platform as the primary engine driving long-term gains.
We are growing revenue, expanding profitability, and generating substantial free cash flow and free cash flow per share.
-- Vladimir G. Shmunis, Founder, Chairman and CEO
Distribution partnerships with global service providers and global voice infrastructure provide structural advantages over smaller software competitors. Management remains focused on pricing discipline and model efficiency as adoption of artificial intelligence increases.
Together with a stronger balance sheet and disciplined capital allocation, we believe these fundamentals position RingCentral to compound free cash flow per share and drive meaningful long term shareholder value.
