Chainlink Launches One-Click Cross-Chain Vault Deposits Across 80+ Blockchains

Source Newsbtc

TL;DR: Chainlink has launched CCIP Vault Adapters, allowing DeFi vaults on one network to accept deposits from users across more than 80 supported blockchains without asking those users to bridge assets manually. Aave, Lombard, Venus, Veda and several other platforms are already adopting the infrastructure.

One of DeFi‘s most stubborn problems is not finding yield. It is getting the user’s money to the right chain without making the journey painful.

Chainlink is trying to remove that step.

The oracle and interoperability provider launched CCIP Vault Adapters on Thursday, a new piece of infrastructure that lets a vault remain on one home network while accepting deposits from users holding assets across more than 80 supported blockchains.

For the user, the pitch is simple: deposit into the vault in one action rather than bridging an asset, changing networks and then completing a second transaction.

For vault operators, the design is arguably more important.

Instead of deploying copies of the same vault across multiple chains and splitting liquidity between them, a protocol can keep accounting, strategy logic and total value locked on a single home chain while using Chainlink‘s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol to route deposits in from elsewhere.

Chainlink says standard ERC-4626 vaults can integrate the adapter through a factory contract without writing custom cross-chain code.

The launch already has a sizeable list of adopters.

Aave, Lombard, Venus and Huma Finance are among the protocols using or integrating the system. Vault and infrastructure platforms including Veda, Accountable and Enzyme are also involved.

The use cases vary.

Lombard can route Bitcoin-related deposits from another network into a strategy hosted on Ethereum. Aave can extend access to its sGHO vault beyond Ethereum while keeping the underlying vault architecture concentrated on its home chain.

That is exactly the kind of thing cross-chain infrastructure is supposed to make invisible.

Until now, the practical experience of using DeFi across networks has often involved a user manually choosing a bridge, waiting for settlement, switching a wallet’s network and then interacting with the final application.

Every extra step is another place for the user to stop.

There is also a security argument.

Cross-chain systems have historically been one of crypto’s largest sources of exploits. Vault adapters do not remove cross-chain risk, but they can move the routing process away from ad hoc user decisions and into standardized application infrastructure built around CCIP.

Chainlink is positioning the adapters as a distribution layer for on-chain financial products.

That framing makes sense as vaults become more sophisticated. They increasingly package credit, lending, tokenized assets and structured yield into products that look less like individual DeFi transactions and more like investable strategies.

The problem is that capital remains fragmented across dozens of networks.

CCIP Vault Adapters are designed to let the vault travel to the user without actually moving the vault itself.

If that works at scale, cross-chain DeFi may start feeling less like visiting a collection of separate networks and more like using one financial market with multiple entry points.

Gold falls to a two-month low as real yields bite — can $4,000 hold?Gold hit a two-month low on 7 October, with spot touching roughly $4,090 and COMEX December futures closing at $4,140.70, even as the New York Fed's one-year inflation expectation rose to 3.9% — its highest since May 2023. The paradox resolves through real yields: the 30-year Treasury yield reached 5.732% intraday, its highest since 2002.
