Meta didn't sit on its hands. On Sept. 8, it released Muse AI, a personal artificial intelligence (AI) agent that got to 5 million downloads faster than OpenAI's ChatGPT did when it first launched in late 2022. Towards the end of September, the business introduced new hardware devices, like updated Ray-Ban smart glasses, audio-only smart glasses, and a keychain-like Muse Charm device.
Finally, the company brought Muse for Small Business and the Meta Enterprise Platform to market. These provide AI capabilities to a professional customer group. It's yet another indication that the business is going all-in on AI.
But October has been a difficult month this decade. The stock was flat in October of 2020, 2023, and 2024, and it fell in October of 2021 (down 5%), 2022 (down 31%), and 2025 (down 12%).
Nonetheless, the social media stock looks like a good buy. It trades at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 22.1. Investors who decide to buy shares right now can't be surprised if October turns out to be another weak month, as past trends indicate. Play the long game with Meta.
