Anthropic Strikes $13.7 Billion Deal With Trump-Linked Rum Group: Can It Drive IPO Valuation Higher?

TradingKey - Can Anthropic's Alliance with Donald Trump-Backed RUM Group Boost Its IPO Valuation?

On September 14, according to a report by The Information, Anthropic reached a 6-year AI computing power procurement agreement worth a total of $13.7 billion with RUM Group (formerly Rumble), an entity associated with U.S. President Donald Trump.

RUM Group (RUM) is a technology and cloud infrastructure company headquartered in Florida, U.S., focusing on free speech and anti-censorship principles. Originally starting as the video-sharing platform Rumble, the company has transformed in recent years through acquisitions and strategic restructuring into an integrated technology enterprise spanning video social platforms, AI cloud computing infrastructure, and politically connected hosting services, while serving as the hosting partner for Trump's social platform Truth Social.

Under the agreement, RUM Group will provide Anthropic with GPU computing power resources and related cloud infrastructure services from its data center currently under construction in Maysville, Georgia, supporting the continuous iteration of Claude models and the expansion of the Enterprise AI market, providing strong fundamental support for Anthropic's IPO.

In addition, Anthropic's deep pre-IPO collaboration with background or capital groups linked to the new administration will help Anthropic achieve strong penetration into future large-scale bids across U.S. government agencies, defense, and public-private enterprises. However, a transaction with heavy political and business overtones may trigger regulatory scrutiny over issues such as conflicts of interest or procurement compliance, which could introduce additional market volatility risks during the IPO roadshow and potentially cause its valuation to fall instead of rise.

In May this year, Anthropic completed a $65 billion Series H funding round, reaching a post-money valuation of $965 billion. However, Wall Street investment banks such as Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs project that its target offering valuation could reach as high as $2 trillion.
