What this transaction means for investors

EverCommerce just reported its 2026 second-quarter earnings on Aug. 5, showing modest increases in sales, subscriptions, and transaction-free revenue. Revenue for the quarter came in at $152 million, a 2.7% increase from the prior-year period. Subscription and transaction fee revenue increased 3.2% to $147.4 million. Net income did jump from $5.8 million in the second quarter of 2025 to $9.7 million in the second quarter of 2026. "While our outlook for the balance of 2026 has moderated and we now expect results toward the lower end of our guidance ranges, I remain confident in the strength of our platform, our customer relationships and our long-term strategy," Eric Remer said in the company's earnings results. Remer recently decided to step down as CEO.

Over the last 12 months, EverCommerce's stock price has dropped 15.8%, compared with the S&P 500's 18.9% return. While the company's next chapter under new leadership is a bit in flux at the moment, the sale by Storey doesn't appear to be anything more than routine. The transaction was made several days after the company's latest earnings report, and Storey still directly holds 222,586 shares. The company, however, is a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to analyst ratings. Of the eight stock-tracking analysts covered by CNN, 38% rate EverCommerce as a buy, 38% as a hold, and 25% as a sell.
