Defense tech firm Lyntris seeks $2.5 billion US IPO

Lyntris Inc., a U.S. maker of military sensor systems, is looking to raise $528 million in a US initial public offering that would value the company at about $2.53 billion, according to a filing on Monday with the U.S. SEC.

The stock is set to go live on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker LYNX.

Shares are up to $22 on the NYSE

The shares up for sale are a combination of new and existing stock. Lyntris itself is putting up 4.9 million shares, while selling shareholders, of which include private equity firm Trive Capital, are offering another 19.1 million worth of shares.

Initial prices range from $19 to $22 per share, and the very top of that price band is what produces the about $2.53 billion market value.

Evercore, Citigroup and Guggenheim Securities are in charge of the IPO, according to the SEC filing. Lyntris has said it intends to put part of the proceeds toward retiring almost $60 million of debt. The company confirmed the launch in a press release.

Revenue increases are entwined with higher losses

Lyntris’ business continues to expand its top line and rake in cash while also losing money. For the first six months of the year till June 30, Lyntris saw $241 million in revenue alongside a net loss of $13 million. In the first half of 2025, revenue was $179.1 million while net loss stood at $9.7 million.

This means sales grew by more than one-third year-over-year; however, the company’s red ink deepened at the same time. This is a mix common among defense hardware suppliers that carry heavy program and integration costs, and it will be the kind of detail prospective buyers of LYNX will weigh against the $2.5 billion price tag.

Lyntris is a newly formed corporate entity, coming together earlier this year when Dallas-based Trive combined two of its holdings, Vitesse Systems and Accelint. Trive remains a backer of the company and is among the shareholders selling into the IPO.

Its products combine sensors, antennas and proprietary software aimed at military users. The SEC filing says Lyntris has a hand in more than 200 programs that serve the US Department of Defense and allied governments abroad, which shows the reasons for the revenue figures stated in the prospectus.

Defense IPO listings see an increase

Lyntris is stepping into a market that has been receptive to defense and aerospace names, with rising geopolitical tension leading to a further increase in military budgets, and this spending has a direct knock-on effect, causing new US defense listings.

Applied Aerospace & Defense Inc., York Space Systems Inc., Hawkeye 360 Inc., and Aevex Corp. have all gone public in the U.S. in 2026.
