COMPASS will complete its New Drug Application submission within two weeks.
Interventional psychiatrists surveyed show 90% willingness to prescribe COMP360.
Cash on hand of $444 million funds operations into 2028.
On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Nov. 3, 2026, COMPASS (NASDAQ:CMPS) announced that it will complete its rolling New Drug Application (NDA), a formal request for commercial marketing approval, with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) within two weeks. The company is positioning its lead synthetic psilocybin candidate, COMP360, for treatment-resistant depression (TRD), a severe condition where patients do not respond to standard antidepressants, targeting an estimated 4 million patients in the United States. Long-term investors must evaluate whether the business can execute its commercial infrastructure efficiently while protecting its balance sheet. Three things management said stand out.
COMPASS is preparing for the potential commercial launch of COMP360 by leveraging existing interventional psychiatry clinics across the United States. Interventional psychiatrists show high enthusiasm for adopting the therapy once approved.
In recent prescriber-focused market research, approximately 90% of interventional psychiatrists stated that they would prescribe COMP360 within the first year of being available.
-- Lori Englebert, Chief Commercial Officer
Existing therapies for treatment-resistant depression require frequent patient visits or daily administration, creating friction for patients and caregivers. COMP360 delivers fast-acting relief while requiring only periodic dosing over the course of a full year.
COMP360's profile is unique and compellingly differentiated in delivering both a rapid onset, with effects seen within 24 hours, and durability potentially out to 12 months with just a few treatments.
-- Kabir Nath, Chief Executive Officer
Management is funding commercial preparations and a late-stage trial in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), a psychiatric condition triggered by terrifying events. The balance sheet protects operations past the commercial launch without requiring immediate equity capital.
We expect our strong balance sheet, with $444 million of cash on hand as of September 30th, to carry us well through the launch and into 2028.
-- Kabir Nath, Chief Executive Officer
More than 8,500 interventional psychiatry treatment centers operate in the United States, providing turnkey facility capacity for patient monitoring. Management is building out a specialized field team and focusing on reimbursement logistics to maintain pricing discipline across key markets.
This established infrastructure has existing capacity and, importantly, is already equipped with the staff and operational know-how needed to support additional multi-hour treatments like COMP360.
-- Lori Englebert, Chief Commercial Officer
Expanding clinical trials into additional psychiatric conditions provides long-term optionality for revenue growth. Management continues to direct capital toward near-term commercial readiness.
For now, our priority remains completely focused on maximizing the 2027 launch of COMP360 in TRD.
