Where Will XRP Be in 2030?

Key Points

  • According to Standard Chartered, XRP could hit a price of $28 by the year 2030.

  • Three key catalysts could send XRP higher, including increased adoption of blockchain payment technology.

  • A lack of regulatory clarity is just one of the question marks currently swirling around XRP.

For years, XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) has teased crypto investors with the prospect of much bigger things to come. And yet, the price of XRP continues to hover around the $1 mark. Even worse, XRP is still down more than 60% from its 2025 highs and has shown few signs of turning things around anytime soon.

Where does XRP go from here? Will XRP skyrocket in price over the next few years, or will it continue to languish around the $1 mark?

The bull case scenario for XRP

The standard bull case scenario for XRP comes from Standard Chartered. The bank predicts that XRP will eventually hit a price of $28 by 2030. That's roughly a 20x return, given that XRP currently trades for $1.35.

According to Standard Chartered, XRP will hit a price of $2.80 this year, before hitting a price of $7 in 2027, a price of $12.60 in 2028, a price of $19.60 in 2029, and a price of $28 in 2030.

Three key catalysts will help push XRP much higher. For one, institutional adoption of XRP and the Ripple payment network will soar. Second, spot XRP ETF inflows will continue to grow rapidly. And, finally, new pro-crypto regulatory changes will force the hand of financial institutions and banks that have been on the fence about adopting blockchain-based payment rails.

The bear case scenario for XRP

The problem, of course, is that each of these three catalysts is now under question.

Take institutional adoption, for example. Stablecoins are now eating XRP's lunch, and even Ripple (the company behind the XRP token) has admitted as much. The fintech giant launched a stablecoin of its own, Ripple USD, in December 2024.

Or what about ETF inflows? It's impressive that more than $1.6 billion has now flowed into spot XRP ETFs since last year. But that's nowhere near as much as was originally predicted to flow into them. Back in early 2025, JPMorgan Chase predicted that as much as $8 billion might flow into them.

And, finally, what about regulatory clarity? The failure of the Clarity Act to make it through the Senate this year has now upended the future plans of fintech giants such as Ripple. The Clarity Act was supposed to seal the deal on blockchain technology, creating much more demand for the XRP token.

For that reason, XRP might have a difficult journey getting back to the $3.65 price level, which was its high-water mark in 2025. In the ultra-bearish scenario for XRP, it continues to trade around the $1 mark -- the price of your ordinary, garden-variety stablecoin -- for the next few years.

Should you buy XRP?

It's getting harder and harder to make the bull case for XRP, especially when it has continually overpromised and underdelivered. Yes, XRP might have significant upside ahead, but for now, investors should be extremely happy if it can triple in value to hit the $4 mark -- a new all-time high -- by 2030.
