XRP Is The Clear Winner For Transactions, According To Peter Brandt

Source Newsbtc

Peter Brandt, a trader long known for his blunt view of crypto, said many digital assets will end up as junk even as he singled out XRP as the strongest candidate for transactional use.

The comment came during a Crypto Banter interview with Ran Neuner and drew quick notice after Neuner said he did not expect that answer.

A Hard Turn In A Familiar Debate

Brandt said XRP would be his top choice if the question was which coin had the best shot at becoming a working payment network. He also put Solana and Ethereum in the same group, but the XRP pick stood out because he has spent years taking shots at the token and at its supporters.

His comments carried a split message. On one hand, he gave XRP credit for possible real-world transaction use; on the other, he said most cryptocurrencies will not survive in any meaningful way. That mix of praise and warning is part of what made the interview spread so quickly.

Reaction Spread Fast

The clip moved fast through crypto social media after Crypto Banter Clips shared it on X with a line asking whether Brandt had really said XRP. Neuner also made clear he was surprised, saying he never expected Brandt to speak well of XRP in that setting.

Old Criticism Still Lingers

That surprise made sense given Brandt’s recent track record. In December 2025, he said XRP traders were among the easiest crowds to bait, and he later called XRP and silver fans some of the most stubborn bulls he had seen in five decades of trading.

Still, his view of the asset has not been one-sided. In October 2025, he posted an XRP chart and called it a very clean long-term setup, and in April 2026 he even asked followers where they thought XRP could find support during the bear market.

For XRP holders, the latest remarks landed as another sign that Brandt sees at least one use case where the token belongs near the front of the pack.

For Brandt, though, the point was narrower: XRP may fit the payments race better than most of the field, but that does not mean he trusts the rest of crypto to survive it.
