On its third quarter of 2026 earnings call, held on Oct. 14, 2026, BlackRock (NYSE:BLK) announced quarterly net inflows of $205 billion. This capital influx pushes assets under management, the total market value of investments the firm manages for clients, to $15.5 trillion. Expanding beyond traditional index funds into private credit and infrastructure creates durable recurring fees across changing market environments. Three takeaways from the call highlight how this strategy powers long-term growth.

1. Private Markets Expand Into Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure

Management is positioning the firm at the intersection of private credit and technology infrastructure by financing massive data center builds. Integrating Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), an infrastructure investment manager, and HPS Investment Partners, a private credit firm, gives the company full capability across corporate debt and equity structures.

We partnered with Meta on the financing of its planned $14 billion data center in Texas, bringing together infrastructure investments from GIP, private financing capabilities from HPS.
-- Laurence D. Fink, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

2. Organic Base Fee Growth Accelerates Across Asset Classes

Organic base fee growth, which measures recurring fee revenue earned from client net inflows excluding market moves, reached 11% in the quarter. Scaling higher-fee categories like private markets and technology services keeps revenue growing even when underlying equity markets fluctuate.

Third quarter organic base fee growth was 11%. That's nine consecutive quarters at or above our 5% long-term target, and it's also the fifth consecutive quarter at or above 8%.
-- Martin S. Small, Chief Financial Officer

3. Active Exchange-Traded Funds Drive Record Inflows

Investors are increasingly using exchange-traded funds, or pooled investment funds traded on public exchanges, for active management rather than simple market tracking. Expanding active offerings into exchange-traded fund structures lets the firm gather higher-margin fees while consolidating market share from traditional mutual funds.

The ETF wrapper is also evolving how investors access actively managed strategies, and iShares is leading the industry with $60 billion of active inflows in 2026, including a record $22 billion of inflows this quarter.
-- Laurence D. Fink, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Looking Ahead

Capital flows into private infrastructure and specialized fixed income are accelerating, and management isn't hiding its satisfaction about the momentum. Deep relationships with technology companies and institutional investors give the platform a distinct edge in structuring complex financing deals.

Management is watching the buildout of artificial intelligence compute financing, expanding Aladdin, the firm's investment and risk management technology platform, and maintaining pricing discipline across customized wealth portfolios.

More clients are turning to BlackRock as a destination for capital and for a partner for their growth.
-- Laurence D. Fink, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

As traditional banking channels face capital constraints, institutional clients are turning to private markets and technology-driven portfolio management. The firm's ability to unify public markets, private credit, and enterprise software positions it to capture long-term market share.

I am confident in the opportunities and growth ahead for BlackRock, for our clients and importantly, for our shareholders.
-- Laurence D. Fink, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
