Operating earnings per share rose 27% year over year to $1.22.
Management identified over $100 million of run-rate expense savings for 2027.
The company expects to secure over $1.5 billion in pension risk transfer transactions.
On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Nov. 3, 2026, Corebridge Financial (NYSE:CRBG) announced operating earnings per share of $1.22, an increase of 27% year over year. The insurer is expanding investment yields while preparing to finalize its pending merger with Equitable. Scale gains and cost discipline position the combined business to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns for patient shareholders.
Three things management said stand out.
Corebridge Financial is joining forces with Equitable to build scale and lower operating expenses across its life and annuity lines. Early integration planning has already unlocked expense reductions ahead of the targeted closing date.
The synergies we committed to achieving are already starting to materialize. We have identified over $100 million of run rate expense savings that will be realized in the first half of 27. Placing us well on our way toward our $150 million synergy target for 2027.

Market scrutiny regarding technology debt has focused attention on data center loans. Management maintains conservative credit standards by backing its holdings with high-grade corporate tenant leases with rapid repayment schedules.
Importantly, approximately $3.4 billion of our overall digital infrastructure investment portfolio is expected to roll off over the next 3 years consistent with our shorter duration approach.
-- Christopher Peter Filiaggi, Interim Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer
Institutional volumes fluctuate based on transaction timing. Activity in pension risk transfer (PRT), where an insurer assumes defined benefit pension obligations from corporate plan sponsors, is accelerating into year-end.
We have already been selected as the counterparty for over $1.5 billion in PRT transactions that are expected to close in the fourth quarter.

Elevated interest rates expand investment yields and drive individual retirement demand, while management monitors surrender rates as surrender-charge windows expire.
Higher rates are supporting both customer demand and investment returns. Creating opportunities across our businesses.
-- Marc Costantini, President and Chief Executive Officer
Merging with Equitable lowers unit costs while broadening distribution across wealth management and protection markets.
Together, we will offer 1 of the broadest product portfolios in the industry, an unmatched distribution network built on decades of trusted relationships, and complementary insurance, asset management, and wealth management capabilities that you cannot replicate.
