TransUnion generated 8% organic constant currency revenue growth in the third quarter.
Insurance revenue is expected to exceed $430 million in 2026.
Potential FHFA bi-merge policy shifts carry an estimated $33 million revenue impact.
On its third-quarter earnings call, held on Oct. 27, 2026, TransUnion (NYSE:TRU) highlighted broad-based revenue growth driven by international markets and core product diversification. Broader vertical expansion and technology modernization help shelter the credit bureau from cyclical swings in U.S. mortgage lending and rising interest rates. Three things management said stand out.
Insurance has evolved into a key growth pillar, with non-credit solutions such as driver history and fraud prevention providing steady revenue regardless of underlying economic cycles.
Insurance is expected to generate more than $430 million in revenue in 2026, making it comparable in size to our mortgage business excluding FICO royalties.
-- Christopher A. Cartwright, President and Chief Executive Officer
Concerns over the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), the regulator overseeing housing lenders, switching from tri-merge credit reports that combine three bureaus to bi-merge reports that combine two are manageable because most mortgage revenue rests outside mandated requirements.
If all FHFA regulated loans move to bi-merge, and assuming the bureaus maintain the equal share, we expect the annual impact will be roughly $33 million in revenue excluding FICO royalties and $0.15 of adjusted diluted earnings per share.

Moving core data operations to OneTru, the company's single global cloud platform, reduces legacy computing costs while enabling teams to build and deploy new analytical products faster.
The majority of U.S. credit online and batch activities now run on OneTru. We expect to substantially complete the migration by year end with a small tail extending into 2027.
-- Christopher A. Cartwright, President and Chief Executive Officer
International expansion and software innovation continue to power financial performance, giving management room to return cash to shareholders through buybacks and dividends. Low leverage ratios, high free cash flow conversion, and automated platform tools give the business durable pricing power across economic cycles.
Our operating performance and strong balance sheet position us for continued accretive capital deployment.
-- Todd Cello, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Management is looking past near-term rate headwinds by cementing market share in emerging verticals and expanding digital identity offerings across global regions.
Now the Tri-Merge discussion reinforces an important point that is evident in our third quarter results and that is our growth is increasingly diversified durable, and innovation led rather than dependent on any single product vertical, or geography.
-- Christopher A. Cartwright, President and Chief Executive Officer
