On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Oct. 21, 2026, América Móvil, S.A.B. de C.V. (NYSE:AMX) reported total revenue of 251 billion Mexican pesos (MXN), a 7.6% year-over-year revenue increase. Subscribers upgrading to premium mobile tiers are driving higher average revenue per user across primary markets. Cash generation funded capital investments while enabling significant net debt reduction.

Three takeaways from the call highlight its operational direction.

1. Postpaid Plan Upgrades Drive Higher Revenue Per User

Customers renewing their contracts are moving to higher-tier mobile plans. This migration increases average revenue per user (ARPU, the monthly revenue earned per active subscriber) without requiring higher acquisition spending.

I can tell you that on the customers that are coming to renew their plan in our customer care centers, are moving. Half of them are moving to a better plan.
-- Daniel Hajj Aboumrad, Chief Executive Officer

2. Strategic Integration Expands Fiber Reach in Key Markets

Management is integrating Desktop, a Brazilian regional fiber-optic internet provider, to capture commercial synergies across 4.8 million homes passed. Expanding fiber coverage strengthens bundled offerings and protects fixed-line revenue.

We are working very hard because we are just taking desktop on October 1. So I think we have a lot of synergies.
-- Daniel Hajj Aboumrad, Chief Executive Officer

3. Cash Generation Supports Substantial Net Debt Reduction

Free cash flow (the cash remaining after paying for operational expenses and capital projects) expanded sharply over prior-year levels. Internal cash generation fully funded capital investments while lowering net debt.

Our free cash flow was 41% higher than that of 2025, which in turn had been 47% greater than that of the year before.
-- Carlos Jose Garcia Moreno Elizondo, Chief Financial Officer

Looking Ahead

Market competition demands constant brand focus. Scale and brand equity through Telcel (the company's Mexican mobile brand) provide lasting structural advantages. Management prioritizes network quality and subscriber retention.

We need to have a vision. Telcel is a very strong brand in Mexico. So all of that, we need to follow that and still do what we have been doing.
-- Daniel Hajj Aboumrad, Chief Executive Officer

Defending market leadership requires disciplined reinvestment in distribution channels and infrastructure. Capital allocation remains tied to network performance and commercial execution.

So we still need to do what we have been doing: reinforce our investment, train our people, more salespeople, more distributors, all of that.
-- Daniel Hajj Aboumrad, Chief Executive Officer
