On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Oct. 21, 2026, Stifel (NYSE:SF) announced that it expects to deliver another record year of financial performance. The investment bank is expanding its commercial deposit base while generating consistent recurring revenue through wealth management. That combination gives the company durable balance-sheet power to return capital to shareholders even during choppy market cycles.

Three takeaways from the call stand out for long-term investors.

1. Technology Licensing Accelerates Venture and Commercial Banking Growth

Management licensed the Meow Technologies financial software platform to provide white-label treasury management tools for commercial clients. Adding automated deposit gathering lets the firm capture low-cost funding to expand loan volume without adding physical bank branches.

Under this agreement, we will have access to all current and future capabilities of the Meow platform. This will provide our bank with a leading-edge white-label treasury management platform for our venture fund banking and other commercial clients.
-- Ronald J. Kruszewski, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

2. Wealth Management Recurring Revenue Anchors Long-Term Expansion

Fee-based client assets reached $240 billion, giving the wealth division stable cash flows that shield overall earnings when market volatility slows institutional advisory deals. That predictable revenue stream fuels ongoing advisor recruiting and keeps the firm on track toward $1 trillion in total client assets.

Global Wealth Management has been and will continue to be the foundation of Stifel's business and its recurring revenue provides us consistent, predictable growth even in volatile markets.
-- Ronald J. Kruszewski, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

3. Share Repurchases Take Priority Over Expensive Acquisitions

Management repurchased 1.6 million shares in the third quarter rather than paying high valuation multiples for outside targets. Buying back discounted internal shares increases return on tangible common equity (ROTCE), a measure of profitability relative to net physical assets, while preserving capital for organic loan expansion.

As it relates to your second question, I think it's a good one in that when we are looking at acquisitions, there is an attractive one out there. It's called our own stock.
-- Ronald J. Kruszewski, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Looking Ahead

Investment banking pipelines are building across corporate advisory and public finance, and client engagement is gaining traction following late-summer interest rate moves.

In advisory and capital raising, we have strong backlog and improving client engagement. And going forward, we see increased activity levels across our diversified investment bank.
-- Ronald J. Kruszewski, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Strategic flexibility and disciplined cost controls position the firm to capture deal activity while expanding net interest margin (NIM), the difference between interest earned on loans and interest paid on deposits.

Stifel's diversified model, recurring revenue, and disciplined capital management have us positioned to keep compounding value for shareholders regardless of market conditions.
-- Ronald J. Kruszewski, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
