Rogers (NYSE:ROG) delivered a mixed Q3 report on Tuesday evening, but the positive bottom-line results heavily outweighed the top-line miss. The engineered materials specialist (not to be confused with the Canadian communications company of the same name) opened Wednesday's trading 13% higher before sliding back to a 3.8% gain as of 10:45 a.m. ET.

Rogers crushed bottom-line expectations

Wall Street analysts projected $1.19 per share in earnings for Q3 2026. Rogers blew right past that hurdle, reporting a 54% year-over-year jump in adjusted earnings to $1.39 per share. Management attributed the bottom-line strength to a favorable product mix, increased volume, and continued operational discipline.

Missed AI’s "Act 1"? Act 2 Could Be 15x Bigger. Most investors think they missed the AI boat because they didn't buy Nvidia in 2005. But according to our analysts, we’re only at the end of "Act 1"—the R&D phase. "Act 2" is the global rollout. Continue »

On the top line, revenues rose 9.3% year-over-year to $236.1 million. That's just short of the Street's $238 million consensus.

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, Rogers provided guidance that closely mirrors its Q3 dynamic. Management expects Q4 earnings between $0.90 and $1.10 per share. Even the low end of that range matches Wall Street's $0.90 target, setting the company up for another potential bottom-line beat.

Building the physical footprint for data centers

On the earnings call, CEO Ali El-Haj emphasized the company's accelerating momentum in high-growth adjacencies. Despite higher year-over-year costs due to a new facility in Suzhou, China, Rogers expects these newer markets to generate $100 million in annual revenue by 2028, rising to $450 million by 2033. That's a big boost for a company with $835 million of trailing twelve-month sales today.

You usually don't think of an industrial materials company when you hear "artificial intelligence," but Rogers is proving to be a stealthy picks-and-shovels play on the AI boom. As data centers demand increasingly complex power and cooling solutions, Rogers is showing that the best AI investments often wear hard hats.

Brent's $115 front month sits $4.6 above January — the $14 spread to WTI is the supply-risk premiumDecember Brent trades at $115.29 while January is $110.71, a $4.58 backwardation. The December Brent-WTI spread is $14.2, versus a $3-5 normal. That gap, not the headline, is where the Middle East supply risk is priced. Here is what the curve says, why the December contract's expiry on October 30 will mechanically cut the headline by $4.6, and the 108.81 neckline that decides the next move.
