Stock Market Today, Aug. 12: Nebius Group Surges on Massive Revenue Growth

Source The Motley Fool

Nebius Group (NASDAQ:NBIS), an AI cloud infrastructure provider, closed at $259.20, up 34.14%. Second-quarter results showed 454% revenue growth, positive adjusted EBITDA, and the company reaffirmed full-year revenue guidance. A recent $1 billion-plus computing deal was just one of the contributing deals.
Trading volume reached 60.6 million shares, coming in about 192% above its three-month average of 20.7 million shares.

How the markets moved today

The S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC) rose 0.27% to 7,749, while the Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC) gained 0.54% to 26,588. Within AI infrastructure and cloud services, CoreWeave (NASDAQ:CRWV) closed at $107.73, up 19.28%, and Oracle (NYSE:ORCL) finished at $153.28, higher by 5.36%, as investor appetite for neocloud and database software names stayed strong.

What this means for investors

Nebius Group reported stronger-than-expected second-quarter revenue and positive adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization).

Continued strong demand for its cloud infrastructure, along with capital investments, led management to increase its year-end contracted power guidance to 5 gigawatts (GW). That’s up from an estimate of about 4 GW guidance in May 2026, and twice what the company said last November.

The company noted four large compute deals secured in Q2, including a recently disclosed deal with Reflection AI worth over $1 billion through 2029, underscoring demand for its AI cloud business.

Nebius stock trades at a high premium, reflecting its strong revenue growth. Management maintained 2026 revenue guidance, but investors should expect 2027 guidance to show a meaningful increase.
