Under the plan, LG will test wheeled robots on the production line at its washing machine plant in Tennessee, U.S., this year, and plans to launch a new-generation bipedal humanoid robot in the first quarter of 2027. The robot will feature Nvidia's Jetson Thor chip, combining the Isaac GR00T foundation model and Holoscan for Robotics technology, while integrating LG Electronics' actuators, LG Innotek's sensors, and LG Energy Solution's battery technology.

In terms of AI infrastructure, LG expects to build an AI factory demonstration site based on Nvidia's Vera Rubin platform in the first half of 2027, with plans to expand it into an 80-megawatt capacity facility in the first half of 2028. In addition, the two parties will advance next-generation AI-defined vehicle technology centered around Nvidia's DRIVE Hyperion platform.

This partnership signifies that LG is accelerating the integration of its hardware manufacturing capabilities with Nvidia's AI computing and robotics technologies, further positioning itself in emerging markets such as humanoid robotics, smart manufacturing, and future vehicles.
