Pool channel inventory destocking was completed in the third quarter.
Pentair acquired Taco Group Holdings using $1.4 billion of debt financing.
Third-quarter free cash flow reached $153 million.
On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Oct. 27, 2026, Pentair (NYSE:PNR) announced quarterly sales of $976 million and adjusted earnings per share of $1.18. The pool segment completed a channel inventory destock, clearing excess inventory from distribution channels to match factory shipments with end-customer demand.
Three key management insights outline how the business is positioned for long-term growth.
Management finished aligning distributor supply levels with true consumer demand, setting up factory shipments to match retail sales in 2027. This inventory reset removes a major drag on reporting performance without sacrificing underlying customer purchases.
In pool, we completed the previously communicated channel inventory destock, an important milestone that positions the business on a healthier foundation as we enter 2027.
-- John L. Stauch, President and Chief Executive Officer
The company completed its purchase of Taco Group Holdings to enter fast-growing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning applications alongside data center water systems. This transaction expands spec-driven replacement sales across schools, hospitals, and commercial buildings.
Taco adds a high growth platform to Pentair, and expands our presence in attractive commercial infrastructure and multifamily residential end markets.
-- John L. Stauch, President and Chief Executive Officer
Pentair reorganized seven sales territories into two regional divisions to adapt equipment marketing, dealer training, and technical service to local market conditions. Direct field support to regional service technicians targets recurring aftermarket replacement sales on installed equipment pads.
We have added resources to our inside sales team as well as started to build out our regional structure including enhanced regional reporting and targeted marketing programs designed to enable higher levels of dealer engagement.
-- John L. Stauch, President and Chief Executive Officer
Fourth-quarter top-line momentum is picking up as acquisition gains offset softness in residential water treatment, and leadership is clear about the trajectory. The company relies on disciplined product pricing, an established distribution reach, and expanding return on sales, which measures operational profit efficiency, across its core flow and water treatment units.
For the fourth quarter, we expect sales to be up approximately 7% to 9% inclusive of the TACO acquisition.
-- Robert W. Hau, Incoming Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
With distribution inventory stabilized, management expects factory shipments to track end-user demand across expanding commercial cooling and water infrastructure markets. The business model continues to generate substantial operating cash flow to support balance sheet debt reduction while funding core product innovation.
With channel inventory better aligned with demand and a clear growth strategy centered on our dealers, and customers, we believe Pool is positioned for robust growth in 2027 without assuming recovery in the end markets.
