Net sales grew 12% year over year in the third quarter.
Architectural Specialties segment net sales increased 22% with 16% organic growth.
Mineral Fiber segment adjusted EBITDA margin reached 44% during the quarter.
On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Oct. 27, 2026, Armstrong (NYSE:AWI) announced a 12% net sales increase and raised its full-year revenue growth guidance to a range of 10% to 11%. The ceiling manufacturer demonstrated strong pricing power and product expansion despite persistent cost inflation across freight and raw materials. That operational discipline protects profit margins during softer commercial construction cycles.
Three things management said stand out.
Architectural Specialties, the segment covering custom ceiling and wall designs, produced 16% organic sales growth. Order intake expanded at double-digit rates across several consecutive quarters as design partners specified more complex custom solutions.
We are pleased with an organic growth rate of 16% in the quarter, which represents the highest quarterly organic growth rate on record.
-- Chris Calzaretta, Chief Financial Officer
Input cost inflation accelerated to its fastest rate since 2022, driven by higher freight and raw material prices. Management enacted off-cycle price increases to protect adjusted EBITDA, or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization, expanding Mineral Fiber segment margins to 44%.
In the face of the highest input cost inflation we've experienced since 2022, Mineral Fiber delivered a 44% adjusted EBITDA margin and expanded margin year over year.
-- Mark Hershey, Chief Executive Officer
Armstrong is expanding into mission-critical commercial categories like data centers to boost AUV, or average unit value per square foot. Sales of ceiling products and structural grid systems in this vertical surpassed management's initial target for the entire year.
Through the third quarter, both our ceiling and DYNAMAX structural grid data center sales have exceeded our full-year revenue plans.
-- Mark Hershey, Chief Executive Officer
Commercial building construction remains muted across broader markets, yet project bidding stays steady. Armstrong relies on balanced exposure across renovation and new construction alongside proprietary distribution networks to defend market share while watching for project delays.
While on-the-ground sentiment and bidding activity remain stable, we are working closely with our customers, particularly our commercial distribution partners, to monitor for signs of project delays and capture opportunities as they emerge.
-- Mark Hershey, Chief Executive Officer
Discipline on mid-cycle price adjustments positions the business to support long-term compounding.
We move forward into the fourth quarter and look ahead to 2027 with confidence, focused on delivering profitable growth and creating long-term value for our shareholders.
-- Mark Hershey, Chief Executive Officer
