Texas Roadhouse: 3 Key Takeaways for Long-Term Investors

Source The Motley Fool

Key Points

  • Texas Roadhouse generated $1.6 billion in third-quarter revenue.

On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Nov. 5, 2026, Texas Roadhouse (NASDAQ:TXRH) reported revenue growth of 9.5% to $1.6 billion. Steady guest demand and disciplined expansion continue to generate predictable revenue growth across its restaurant footprint. Three things management said stand out.

1. International Franchise Agreements Open Asian Growth Markets

Securing new global territory builds a high-margin licensing stream beyond mature domestic locations. Expanding into new countries broadens international brand reach without requiring heavy capital investment.

In addition, we are excited to announce that we have recently come to terms on development and franchise agreements in Vietnam and Japan.
-- Gerald Morgan, Chief Executive Officer

2. Proprietary Mobile Point-of-Sale Hardware Streamlines Store Operations

Developing proprietary point-of-sale (POS) software that processes table orders on tablets helps servers take orders faster while improving kitchen workflow. Customizing in-house technology keeps store operations flexible while lowering operational friction during peak dining hours.

The mobile POS is in 100 stores, as I think we mentioned. It's on version 2. We're currently writing that software ourselves, and we're having a lot of success with it.
-- Gerald Morgan, Chief Executive Officer

3. Managing Partners Staff for Long-Term Traffic Goals

Restaurateurs who manage staffing based on long-term sales goals prevent customer service stumbles during temporary demand swings. Operating with managing partners (MPs), who earn equity-like returns from restaurant profits, preserves store-level execution quality.

Our MPs, they staff for the sales and the traffic they want in the long term. And so I don't think you'll see much of a change from us in that approach at all.
-- Mike Lenihan, Chief Financial Officer

Looking Ahead

Guest traffic momentum is building heading into the fourth quarter, and executive leaders are openly pleased with recent sales trends. Store-level execution, strong brand loyalty, and measured pricing discipline provide durable structural advantages as leadership monitors commodity costs and labor inflation.

We exited the month of October higher than what we entered it. And thus far in November, we have seen a further increase from where we exited October.
-- Mike Lenihan, Chief Financial Officer

Long-term value creation rests on maintaining operational standards as store counts expand across all three restaurant concepts.

This mentality has driven our success over the years and will continue to keep us Roadhouse strong for years to come.
-- Gerald Morgan, Chief Executive Officer
