On its second quarter fiscal year 2027 earnings call, held on Oct. 28, 2026, Gen Digital (NASDAQ:GEN) announced 12% revenue growth to $1.37 billion alongside raised full-year profit guidance. The digital safety provider is converting customer demand for identity and cyber protection into expanding profit margins and steady cash generation. Three things management said stand out.

1. Partner Channel Revenue Growth Reaches 40% Driven by Employee Benefits

The partner channel, where third-party businesses distribute consumer protection products, grew to represent over 20% of total company revenue. Employers increasingly add financial wellness and cyber protection features to corporate benefit packages ahead of annual enrollment.

Our partner channel achieved accelerated revenue growth of 40% to $295 million with double-digit growth across multiple channels, including employee benefits, financial marketplace and our telco channel.
-- Natalie Derse, Chief Financial Officer

2. Internal AI Deployment Cuts Costs Across Engineering and Support Operations

Management uses artificial intelligence tools internally to reduce operating expenses and improve operational efficiency. Automated systems now write three-quarters of new engineering code and resolve roughly half of customer service interactions without human intervention.

In customer support, AI now resolves roughly half of contacts end-to-end at lower support costs and with higher service levels.
-- Natalie Derse, Chief Financial Officer

3. Organic Execution Cash Generation Avoids Need for Transformative M&A

Gen Digital produces nearly $2 billion in annual free cash flow. That's cash generated after accounting for operational costs and capital expenditures. Management reassured investors that organic product expansion remains the priority over large, risky corporate acquisitions, known as mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

But to avoid any misunderstanding, let me be clear, we are not working on a transformative acquisition today.
-- Vincent Pilette, Chief Executive Officer

Looking Ahead

Operational momentum across cybersecurity and personal financial management sets up steady earnings expansion. Expanding partner distribution and deep internal automation provide structural cost advantages while management tracks consumer adoption of automated software tools.

Our momentum across the business and the proof points of our platform-driven synergies give us the confidence that we can deliver long-term sustainable growth.
-- Vincent Pilette, Chief Executive Officer

Disciplined capital allocation ensures that organic investments translate directly into shareholder value through earnings per share (EPS) growth and cash returns.

Our commitment to shareholders and our operating principle is to deliver EPS growth faster than revenue growth.
-- Natalie Derse, Chief Financial Officer
