Prosperity Bancshares raised its quarterly dividend by 6.7% to $0.64.
Management projects $65 million to $70 million in additional pretax cost savings.
Total assets grew 41% year over year to $54.1 billion.
On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Oct. 28, 2026, Prosperity Bancshares (NYSE:PB) announced a 6.7% increase in its fourth-quarter dividend to $0.64 per share. Recent bank acquisitions expanded the balance sheet, which positions the regional lender for double-digit earnings growth through cost reductions and asset repricing. Three things management said stand out.
The bank reaps higher yields as fixed-rate loans and bond investments reprice into current market rates. Management expects this expanding net interest margin, the spread between interest earned on loans and paid on deposits, to power double-digit earnings-per-share growth in 2027.
We believe that the combination of our growth outlook with our loan pipelines asset repricing, net interest margin expansion, and the realization of our cost savings will drive meaningful earnings-per-share growth in 2027.
-- David E. Zalman, Senior Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Management completed the system integration for one recent acquisition in September and plans to complete conversions for two other acquired banks by March 2027. These operational consolidations reduce redundant expenses and increase efficiency across the expanded footprint.
During the third quarter, we continue to realize cost savings from the acquired banks with additional savings expected as we complete the remaining 2 system conversions.
-- Asylbek Osmonov, Chief Financial Officer
Rather than relaxing credit discipline to force loan growth, the bank projects near-term loan balances to stay flat to slightly increasing while integration finishes. Profitability per share will accelerate from cost reductions and margin expansion rather than aggressive balance sheet growth.
I think from an earnings perspective, we have got this nice new run rate, nice new margin. We have the continued margin expansion from repricing. And we got another $70 million worth of pre-tax cost saves.
-- Kevin J. Hanigan, President and Chief Operating Officer
Economic expansion across Texas and Oklahoma provides a supportive backdrop, and management isn't hiding its satisfaction with the expanded scale. Greater size improves efficiency, strengthens local market positioning, and funds technology upgrades. Management is watching core deposit retention and pricing discipline.
Our greater scale strengthens our competitiveness, improves efficiency, and enables technology investments that would be difficult for a smaller bank.
-- David E. Zalman, Senior Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Discounted valuation levels create buyback opportunities alongside steady capital generation. The overall strategy continues to focus on long-term value creation through disciplined regional banking.
If you are a long-term investor, you are gonna love our model.
-- David E. Zalman, Senior Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
