The company has also announced plans to issue up to 555M new shares in a bid to raise $5.3B. Simon Gerovich, CEO of Metaplanet, describes this as ‘Asia’s largest-ever equity raise dedicated to Bitcoin.’

The company also said that, as Bitcoin is ‘dematerializing’ the $300T store-of-value market, Metaplanet will capture 1% of it.

In more good news for crypto, the Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) has announced that the SEC has approved its Bitcoin Treasury plan.

This means the company can use the $2.3B raised from 50 institutional investors to buy $BTC.

According to the registration statement, this is ‘one of the largest Bitcoin treasury deals for a public company.’ The same statement allows investors to resell ~56M equity shares and 29M shares tied to convertible notes.

Trump Media is the publicly listed company behind the Truth Social platform, streaming service Truth+, and the soon-to-be-launched fintech Truth.fi.
