Daily Crypto Card Spending Sets $36.82 Million Record

Crypto card usage has skyrocketed over the past year and cumulative volumes are rising rapidly. This week on July 20, users spent $36.82 million in a single day as per Paymentscan. This is the highest single day volume ever recorded.

The number alone is only one side of the story. The other half is which card program briefly sat on top of the pile. KAST drew in $13.64 million that day, going past RedotPay’s $12.8 million and grabbing the number one spot for the first time. That said, this lead did not last for more than a day.

Two cards are driving the majority of the daily spend volume at the moment and the gap between them and every other card program is widening. Nevertheless, daily usage of crypto cards has tripled in a year from around $10 million to where we are now.

A Record With No Rally Behind It

Bitcoin and the wider crypto market have been relatively flat and sideways. Despite sentiment across crypto remaining in the fear territory leading into July 20, daily volumes on crypto card usage still managed to hit these highs. This shows real usage with people loading stablecoins and actually using it to purchase things.

The fact is, card spend essentially tracks money leaving crypto for goods and services. When the spend amount continues to grow in an apathetic market, it reflects habit rather than simply hype.

GENIUS Act clarity and Visa rails widened the base

The GENIUS Act became law in July 2025. It gave US stablecoin issuers a federal rulebook for the first time, and bigger players who had stayed cautious without one are warming up. Visa runs the rails for both KAST and RedotPay. A stablecoin balance works at any merchant that takes Visa, roughly 150 million of them. Then there is emerging-market demand. A US bank account is hard to get in much of the world, and stablecoins do the job a checking account would.

Most of these users sit outside the US. They want dollars they can hold and spend without a US bank behind them. KAST and RedotPay give them that. The count grows whether Bitcoin rips or bleeds.

KAST’s day at the top came with points attached

The one-day flip to first was not a share shift. KAST is running a points campaign ahead of a token generation event targeted for the fourth quarter, and points reward spending. Users front-load transactions to farm them, which inflates a single day’s volume without moving the underlying order.

The round trip proves it. If KAST had genuinely overtaken RedotPay on real demand, the lead would have survived past 24 hours. It did not. Cumulative volume across the stretch still sits with RedotPay, and the July 20 spike reads as incentive-driven activity rather than a change in who runs the sector.
