On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Nov. 4, 2026, Perrigo (NYSE:PRGO) announced an agreement to sell its infant formula business. The divestment removes a cash-draining operation and frees up capital for higher-margin health products. Three takeaways from management stand out.

1. Divesting Infant Formula Simplifies Operations and Preserves Cash

Management is streamlining its portfolio to focus on high-return self-care products, which are non-prescription health goods. The sale reduces capital expenditures, or capex, and improves the operating margin profile.

The sale of infant formula is an important step. It simplifies our portfolio and operations, improves our margin profile, reduces expected future CapEx, and allows us to focus our people and resources where we have the greatest right to win.
-- Albert Manzone, Interim President and CEO

2. E-Commerce Momentum Drives Digital Channel Expansion

Online shopping is outpacing growth in physical retail, and Perrigo holds a higher market share in e-commerce than in offline stores. Management is doubling down on digital distribution to capture shifting consumer habits.

U.S. e-commerce total category volume is up nearly 15% year to date, and e-commerce now represents 22% of our U.S. volume, up from approximately 13% in 2022.
-- Albert Manzone, Interim President and CEO

3. Market Share Gains Offset Cautious Retailer Ordering

Retailers conservatively ordered over-the-counter (OTC) products ahead of the cold season after two quiet years. Even with that drag, Perrigo picked up market share in store brands and European health products.

In U.S. store brand OTC, volume grew 2% in the quarter, and we gained 30 basis points of share. In Europe, value sales in our key brands grew 6.5%, well ahead of their categories, and gained 80 basis points of share.
-- Albert Manzone, Interim President and CEO

Looking Ahead

Retailers are keeping inventory light, yet early illness trends look encouraging. Perrigo relies on store-brand retail partnerships, digital scale, and cost savings from its efficiency program while tracking retailer replenishment and European demand.

While we remain mindful of the uncertain consumer environment and potential for variability in seasonal incident levels, we believe the actions we're taking position Perrigo to exit 2026 as a simpler and more focused consumer self-care company.
-- Eduardo Bezerra, CFO

Shedding noncore units helps management focus on execution.

We know what we have to do, we are doing it, and I am confident in where we are headed.
-- Albert Manzone, Interim President and CEO
