On its third quarter of 2026 earnings call, held on Nov. 5, 2026, Unusual Machines (NYSEMKT:UMAC) announced revenue of $13.9 million, representing a 551% year-over-year increase. Enterprise defense orders now represent 90% of revenue, positioning the drone component manufacturer to capitalize on funded military contracts while maintaining $342 million in working capital, which measures short-term liquidity available for operations. Three things management said stand out.

1. Defense Contracts Allocate Capacity Through Early 2027

Defense demand drives operational growth as existing military funding commitments cover current manufacturing capacity. Management noted that orders for programs such as Drone Dominance, a federal defense purchasing initiative, already fill production schedules through the first quarter of 2027.

And so really, there's already enough appropriated funding through 2026 and enough demand that we are already pretty much fully allocated through the first quarter of 2027.
-- Allan Evans, CEO

2. Inventory Expansion Prepares Manufacturing Line for Scale

Management increased raw material inventory and prepaid orders from $42.4 million to $65.9 million during the quarter. Securing parts in advance protects production schedules against supply chain disruptions as the company brings an automated motor manufacturing line online.

This investment in inventory helps us manage supply chain constraints and support larger customer orders as we continue to prepare for significant growth in 2027.
-- Brian Hoff, CFO

3. Expense Control Limits Core Operating Losses

Headcount expanded from 240 employees to over 340 following the acquisition of Upgrade Energy, a power systems business. Management kept non-GAAP adjusted EBITDA loss, which measures core operating profit by excluding noncash expenses, to $700,000 while maintaining a 35.4% gross margin.

Even as we more than doubled our workforce this year, we remain focused on managing expenses and building out the operational efficiency needed to scale profitably.
-- Brian Hoff, CFO

Looking Ahead

Production scaling and capacity expansion dominate management's strategy as the company seeks 100,000 square feet of new operational space. Domestic manufacturing capabilities and extensive inventory buffers provide strong structural protection against supply chain bottlenecks. Management is watching the finalization of commercial drone rules under the Federal Aviation Administration's Part 108 framework to open long-term enterprise demand alongside defense orders.

All demand signals remain strong, and there has been nothing preventing us from continuing to grow.
-- Allan Evans, CEO

With $342 million in working capital and funded defense contracts stretching into next year, management is focusing capital deployment on internal operational execution rather than near-term acquisitions.

Our business is well capitalized and healthy, which gives us a strong advantage in the current market environment.
-- Allan Evans, CEO
