On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Nov. 3, 2026, Coupang (NYSE:CPNG) announced consolidated net revenues of $10 billion. The performance shows how the online retailer expands its international footprint while working through temporary margin pressures. Three things management said stand out.

1. Rapid Taiwan Adoption Drives Acceleration in Infrastructure Investments

Developing Offerings, the segment that houses international expansion and delivery services, accelerated growth as customer adoption increased. Management pulled forward logistics capital outlays to establish fulfillment capacity ahead of local retail demand.

Our WOW membership program in Taiwan has grown more than 100% year-over-year and 14% quarter-over-quarter, an acceleration over the growth we saw in Q2.
-- Bom Suk Kim, Founder and Chief Executive Officer

2. Temporary Headwinds Clear as Product Commerce Margins Target Mid-2027 Recovery

Product Commerce, the core online retail business in Korea, faced margin compression from promotional spend and fixed operational costs. Management expects profitability to return to historical levels as elevated marketing tapering takes effect.

We continue to expect Product Commerce adjusted EBITDA margins to return by mid-next year to levels approximating those we generated prior to the data incident.
-- Gaurav Anand, Chief Financial Officer

3. Fast Fresh Delivery and Automation Boost Customer Engagement

Automated packaging technology and dense logistics networks reduce per-order costs while speeding order processing. Expanding Rocket Fresh, the nationwide grocery delivery service, deepens shopping frequency across the customer base.

Rocket Fresh volumes grew more than twice the pace of overall Product Commerce this quarter.
-- Bom Suk Kim, Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Looking Ahead

Customer spending remains consistent across core cohorts, and management isn't hiding its satisfaction with underlying shopping behavior. Coupang leverages its owned last-mile delivery network and automated centers while maintaining disciplined marketing spending.

The soft spot in reported growth this quarter remains a small cohort of members who left after the data incident and haven't yet returned.
-- Bom Suk Kim, Founder and Chief Executive Officer

The business continues scaling overseas operations while maintaining delivery profitability. Capital allocation focuses on long-term shareholder returns and customer engagement.

As always, we continue to take the long view on value for our customers and returns for our shareholders, and Q3 reinforces it.
-- Bom Suk Kim, Founder and Chief Executive Officer
