Oracle Rises Over 8% as Google Cloud Partnership Expands to Bring Gemini Models to Fusion and NetSuite Enterprise Applications

TradingKey - Oracle ( ORCL) and Google Cloud announced a further expansion of their partnership, with Google ( GOOGL) deeply integrating its Gemini family of large models into Oracle's enterprise application suite, covering two core product lines: Oracle Fusion Applications and NetSuite.

According to the plans announced by both parties, in addition to continuing to provide customers with access to Gemini models through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Enterprise AI, Gemini models will be introduced to Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications. The platform is positioned as a one-stop AI automation development environment, allowing enterprises to leverage Oracle's proprietary, partner, and third-party reusable agents to build, connect, and execute AI automation and agentic applications.

Meanwhile, Oracle also plans to directly call Gemini models as embedded AI use cases in Fusion Applications and NetSuite.

Satish Thomas, Vice President at Google Cloud, said: "Global enterprises are trusting Google Cloud’s full-stack AI capabilities to power critical workflows and agents. Expanding our partnership with Oracle will make it easier for businesses to use Gemini within the applications and agentic workflows they rely on, automating processes, accelerating decision-making, and driving business outcomes."

Kevin Ichhpurani, President of Global Partner Ecosystem at Google Cloud, added that this partnership will "bring Google’s most powerful AI models directly into the core application workflows that run global businesses every day, enabling enterprises to apply highly efficient and cost-effective AI directly where business decisions are made."

Boosted by the news, Oracle's stock price surged over 8% intraday. As of press time, it was still up 6.5% at $125.39. Notably, the stock has retraced by more than 50% since reaching its interim peak of $249.38 on June 1.

From the perspective of the competitive landscape, several aspects of this partnership are worth noting.

For Oracle, connecting Gemini to the existing customer base of Fusion and NetSuite essentially equips Oracle's SaaS business with an AI engine, which helps improve customer stickiness and ARPU. Instead of developing its own general-purpose large models, Oracle chose a differentiated path of "integrating the strongest models + enterprise workflow orchestration," benchmarking against Microsoft's strategy of embedding Dynamics 365 through the Azure OpenAI Service.

For Google Cloud, this partnership provides Gemini with access to Oracle's massive enterprise customer base, particularly users of Fusion ERP and NetSuite. This is a significant channel expansion for Google Cloud in enterprise AI deployment, and a crucial step in competing with Microsoft’s OpenAI + Azure combination and AWS Bedrock's multi-model strategy.
