The all-time high for XRP is just $3.84.
For XRP to reach $4 by 2030, it would need to grow at an annualized rate of 30% or higher.
The growing popularity of stablecoins will likely limit XRP's upside potential going forward.
Future price targets for XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) can vary wildly. Some analysts call for XRP to reach $10 or higher by 2030. And a few even expect XRP to soar to $100 or $1,000 over the next few years.
But I think those price targets are far too bullish. I predict XRP will reach $4 by 2030. That implies XRP to triple in price from its current level of $1.30, lifting its market cap from $83 billion to $250 billion.
Missed AI’s "Act 1"? Act 2 Could Be 15x Bigger. Most investors think they missed the AI boat because they didn't buy Nvidia in 2005. But according to our analysts, we’re only at the end of "Act 1"—the R&D phase. "Act 2" is the global rollout. Continue »
Over more than a decade of trading, the XRP token has never hit the $4 mark. It came tantalizingly close in 2018, when it hit an all-time high of $3.84. And it briefly soared to $3.65 in 2025, too. So, while a price of $4 might sound disappointingly low, it would actually mark a new all-time high for XRP.

Going forward, it's time to ratchet down outlandish growth targets for cryptocurrencies such as XRP. They are no longer going to grow at triple-digit annual rates.
I'm not the only one saying this; JPMorgan Chase has also put out a 10-year forecast for Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC). In a base-case scenario, JPMorgan Asset Management sees Bitcoin growing at a 10% annualized rate over the next 10 years. In the best case, it sees Bitcoin growing at a 17% annualized rate.
So let's do a few back-of-the-envelope calculations. If we assume that XRP can grow at a similar rate as Bitcoin, then that leads to a 2030 price target of just $2 to $2.50.
I'm predicting that XRP will grow faster than Bitcoin -- closer to 30% annually. That's what leads to the $4 price target. Expecting XRP to grow any faster than that, unfortunately, is just wishful thinking.
The reason, quite simply, has to do with stablecoins. These are digital currencies pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar, making them very useful for blockchain-based financial transactions. That means they can take over some of the XRP token's basic functionality, which is primarily to serve as a bridge currency for cross-border payments.
Recent news announcements from Ripple, the fintech company behind the XRP token, do not feature XRP. Instead, they play up the growing role of Ripple USD (CRYPTO: RLUSD), the stablecoin launched by Ripple back in December 2024.
Case in point: At the end of October, Ripple received final approval from the OCC to launch a national trust bank. Nary a word was said about XRP. Instead, it was all about the relationship between Ripple's National Trust Bank and the Ripple USD stablecoin.
So you should adjust your future growth estimates for XRP. The coin has the potential to triple in value over the next few years, but it would take a major paradigm shift for XRP to soar to a $250 billion market cap by 2030.
