TradingKey – Hong Kong–listed crypto-themed equities saw broad intraday gains on Friday, August 29, as the Bitcoin Asia Conference wrapped up in the city.
Among the top performers, Guotai Junan International (01788.HK) surged nearly 20%, while OSL Group (00863.HK) climbed 8%. Other notable movers included Medicskin (01931.HK), Jinyong Investments (01328.HK), and ZhongAn Online (06060.HK) — each advancing more than 4% on the session.
The two-day event, held August 28–29 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, was organized by BTC Media and featured over 200 speakers from around the globe. Headliners included Eric Trump (son of U.S. President Donald Trump), Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ), and Blockstream co-founder Adam Back, among other industry leaders.
In a notable political subplot, Eric Yip, Executive Director of Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission, and Legislator Johnny Ng withdrew from the conference mid-stream, reportedly to avoid any appearance of “collaborating with or currying favor” with the Trump family.
