Salesforce, the customer relationship management (CRM) software company, is planning to recruit 1,000 employees to sell its new generative AI agent product, Agentforce.

Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, told Bloomberg that Agentforce is receiving excellent feedback from users after it was released two weeks ago. He added that the hiring plans are focused on maintaining the strong momentum of its product.

Salesforce’s is fully customizable

Agentforce is a customizable generative AI agent that serves various industries like banking, finance, IT, healthcare and retail. The tool helps users complete mundane tasks, like handling customer inquiries and engaging with prospects around the clock. It takes care of such tasks without human intervention.

Additionally, the AI agent provides a sales coach that creates personalized sales role-plays, helping SDRs practice pitching, handle objections better, and negotiate deals. It also provides personalized conversations and product recommendations on e-commerce websites, and assists in building AI-powered marketing campaigns.

Salesforce started implementing its AI strategy in 2024 with a focus on generative AI agents. The tech company launched Agentforce on October 25th and priced it at $2 per agent conversation.

Benioff takes shots at Microsoft’s Copilot

Benioff believes that Microsoft’s Copilot lacks accuracy and has been disappointing to customers. He thinks Copilot is Clippy 2.0, a Microsoft assistant that was discontinued in the early 2000s. “We all know now that Microsoft Copilot is basically the new Microsoft Clippy, that customers have not gotten value from it,” said Benioff in an interview with Bloomberg.

Benioff believes that “Agentforce is what AI was meant to be.“ He said that he had never seen a faster uptake of any Salesforce product like Agentforce.

The CEO of the biggest CRM company aims to have 1 billion AI agents deployed by the end of 2025. The company aims to have every Salesforce employee work on achieving this milestone. Currently, Salesforce has around 75,000 employees worldwide.
