Silent Hill 2 remake update improves Maria based on player’s feedback

An update of the Silent Hill 2 remake reportedly made changes to the proportions of Maria’s head following the complaints that the size of the character’s head doesn’t fit the rest of the body. 

Players have noticed this slight change. A Reddit post by KotakuInAction shares that Maria’s head has been seemingly reduced by 30%. The user also added that changes have been made to enhance her chest as well. Another user commented under the same post hoping to the Bloober Team would also bring back Maria’s classic outfit as well as part of some unlockable feature.

Previously Maria along with other Silent Hill characters has become the point of criticism for having changes that were unlike the original game players.

The criticism of Maria’s character specifically points towards the conservative or “woke” design while her character demands to have a revealing appearance.

While many players moved on from the criticism and enjoyed the game some still complained about the large head.

Even though there isn’t any mention of the changes to the character Maria in the patch notes, it does appear to players that the changes have been made. It’s also not clear which patch had made these changes.

Bloober Team has improved lighting in the Silent Hill 2 remake

However, most players have shown satisfaction with the remake which has also been a huge success. Meanwhile, the developer team has been bringing about updates to improve Silent Hill 2 remake, especially the visuals, performance, and overall bugs.

Lighting had been the point of focus as well since the game’s launch. Many players pointed out that the tone of the bathroom in the opening scene was different since James’s eyes were for the most part hidden in the shadows as shown in the original.

Angela’s appearance was also fine-tuned after players expressed their issues. On the other hand, some players just took matters into their own hands and made changes as they pleased in the fan-made mods.

All in all, players seem satisfied with the updates specifically the improvements in lighting.

After the success of Silent Hill 2 remake, the gaming community looks forward to what the future holds for the game and the developing company.

Fans have been hoping for the Born From a Wish story scenario to be included in the future DLC or update. While others want the Bloober Team to bring out more remakes of their favorite horror game franchise.
