Poland shares lower at close of trade; WIG30 down 1.41%

Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Basic Materials and Oil&Gas sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.41%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 8.36% or 2.22 points to trade at 28.77 at the close. X Trade Brokers Dom Maklerski SA (WA:XTB) added 2.59% or 1.60 points to end at 63.40 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 1.49% or 2.50 points to 170.40 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Text SA (WA:TXTP), which lost 15.80% or 11.20 points to trade at 59.70 in late trade. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 3.04% or 2.76 points to end at 88.14 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) shed 2.75% or 4.50 points to 158.85.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 330 to 178 and 115 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 3.94% or 2.76 to $72.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 3.73% or 2.76 to hit $76.66 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.85 to trade at $2,670.55 a troy ounce.

EUR/PLN was up 0.42% to 4.31, while USD/PLN rose 0.67% to 3.91.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 101.79.
