Taiwan shares lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 0.78%

Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Other Electronic and Optoelectronic sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.78%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sunko Ink Co Ltd (TW:1721), which rose 9.98% or 2.00 points to trade at 22.05 at the close. Daxin Materials Corp (TW:5234) added 9.96% or 22.50 points to end at 248.50 and Chaintech Technology Corp (TW:2425) was up 9.95% or 4.05 points to 44.75 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which lost 9.95% or 0.21 points to trade at 1.90 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Copartner Technology Corp (TW:3550) shed 6.93% or 1.90 points to 25.50.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.25% or 0.18 to $70.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.28% or 0.21 to hit $74.67 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.31% or 8.10 to trade at $2,622.70 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was unchanged 0.01% to 31.93, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.32% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 100.24.
