Take-Two Interactive has announced that Borderlands 4 will launch on 12th September this year. The developer also revealed the game will be released on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. Take-Two also clarified that the base game would be priced at $70.
The publisher revealed the base game would be priced at $70. Also, gamers who buy the game on Steam or the Epic Games Store could play it on NVIDIA GeForce NOW. And for Nintendo Switch 2, gamers can expect the game to be available at a later date this year.
Randy Pitchford, Gearbox founder and President, expressed excitement about launching Borderlands 4. Pitchford explained that the game would be the best entry point for new gamers while also being a love letter to the fans of the original Borderlands games.
Take-Two explained what gamers should expect to assume the role of one of its four new Vault Hunters, who would destroy enemies in Borderlands 4. They added that gamers should also expect a roadmap of free and premium post-launch content that would be released post-launch. Take-Two clarified that depending on the content pack gamers own, paid DLC could include two new Valuta Hunters, new story missions, challenges, side missions, and enemies.
“I’ve been blown away by how high the team at Gearbox has raised the bar for Borderlands 4. The development team crafted a premium AAA adventure that evolves the series’ gameplay and storytelling in new ways while delivering on the quintessential Borderlands looter-shooter experience fans know and love.”

The publisher revealed that Borderlands 4 will have three editions: the standard, the deluxe, and the super deluxe, all available on pre-order from June 16. Gamers pre-ordering the game will get the Gilded Glory Pack, containing one Weapon Skin, one Vault Hunter Skin, and an ECHO-4 Drone Skin.
Take-Two said the game’s deluxe edition will be available for $99.99 and will feature a variety of bonuses, such as the bounty pack bundle with four separate post-release DLC packs, four Vault cards, four new vehicles, Vault Hunter cosmetics, and more. The gaming company revealed that the super deluxe edition will contain all the bonus stuff from the deluxe edition and will cost $129.99.
The announcement by Take-Two came barely a month after Pitchford caused a buzz on social media regarding the price of Borderlands 4. A Borderlands fan suggested in May that the new game should cost less than $80, claiming that many will not pay $80. Pitchford, however, begged to differ with him, arguing that if he was a real fan of Borderlands, he would find a way to get it.
The big news: No price increase for Borderlands 4! Standard Edition launches not at $80, but at $69.99! They’re showing you, so please show them. You can find links to pre-order Borderlands 4 PC and console versions on the store pages here:https://t.co/Pdpa8hoL9m

The CEO narrated a quick story from 1991 when Starflight for Sega Genesis was priced at $80 at a local game store. Pitchford added that even though he worked minimum wage at a local ice cream parlor, he still found a way to get the game. However, the CEO said on Monday that there wouldn’t be a price increase for Borderlands 4.
