White House Press Secretary says February 1 tariff deadline on Canada and Mexico still stands
US President Donald Trump's press secretary Karoline Leavitt said late Tuesday that the plan to impose Canada and Mexico with punishing tariffs on February 1 is still in play.
Trump initially promised 25% across-the-board tariffs in response to what he called the failure of both countries to control the illicit flow of people and drugs over the border.
