Nintendo Direct still expected for February 2025, say insiders

According to a famous leaker, Nintendo Direct is still scheduled for February 2025. Nintendo has not shared any official announcement, even though it is mid-February.

In mid-January, rumors about Nintendo Direct started spreading. A leaker had predicted the event for the 4th and 5th of February based on Nintendo’s online maintenance schedule. However, no announcement was shared on the foretold dates. Some leakers expect the announcement in the coming two weeks.

On February 15th, a Famiboards user named Brazil, who is also known for the legitimacy of his past rumors, reconfirmed that the event was still happening. He had also predicted the August 2024 Nintendo Direct, which included the showcase for Civilization 7 and Pizza Tower coming on Switch.

He was one of the first to claim the rumor about the event without specifying a date. Brazil says he got this information from the same insider who “still insists some form of Direct is happening this month.”

Brazil also compares this scoop to last year’s information. He said that at this time in August 2024, he had confirmation from another source as well. However, this isn’t the case this time.

Nintendo Direct 2025 will reportedly focus on third-party games

Another gaming leaker, Jeff Grubb, backs the rumor as his sources have also confirmed that Nintendo Direct is planned for this month. Moreover, he specified that it would not be a major presentation.

It would more likely be a Mini Direct or a Partner Showcase. This makes sense, as Nintendo previously stated that more Switch 2 details will be revealed at an event in April. That means the event expected in February will focus on smaller updates.

Grubbs predicts that the Nintendo Direct will showcase third-party games releasing on the platform. Therefore, it’s uncertain if there will be any major announcements. Fans still await a confirmation announcement about the event from Nintendo.
