The "Magnificent Seven" is perhaps one of the most popular groups of companies on the market. It is made up of tech -- or tech-adjacent -- leaders that have delivered outstanding long-term results, specifically: Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL), Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN), Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL), Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META), Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA), and Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA). In my view, most are worth serious consideration for long-term investors, and three in particular that look attractive going into November are Nvidia, Meta Platforms, and Amazon. Here is why.

Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »

1. Nvidia

Nvidia's fiscal year 2027 second-quarter update (for the period that ended July 2026) was phenomenal. The company's revenue increased by 106% year over year to $96.2 billion, while its GAAP earnings per share came in at $2.46, 128% higher than the year-ago period. Nvidia's results were so strong that its share price jumped post-earnings, which is saying something for a company for which the market has perpetual high expectations.

Nvidia will report its fiscal 2027 third-quarter results in November. They may or may not be quite as strong as the previous update, but the ongoing earnings season has already provided more evidence that the AI tailwind is far from over, and that's great for Nvidia.

It remains the leader in the GPU (graphics processing unit) market and has expanded its product offerings, thereby increasing its total addressable market. Nvidia also maintains a wide moat, thanks to its CUDA ecosystem, which creates high switching costs. It's a core reason behind the company's success in recent years. And even though Nvidia has already produced exceptional returns, it's not too late to invest in the stock.

2. Meta Platforms

Many investors remain skeptical of Meta's prospects, considering the company's significant AI-related spending has harmed free cash flow. However, Meta is slowly showing that its efforts are not in vain. The company's Muse AI agent has gained significant traction. Management reported that it has been set up by more than 10 million people in the U.S. and Canada, with 25% of them using it daily.

Muse is free to use for consumers (up to certain limits), but Meta could monetize it as a shopping assistant by charging merchants small per-transaction fees. Importantly, Meta has launched a small-business version of Muse and released more sophisticated models targeted at companies in expert domains, such as law and finance. Meta is still spending heavily to improve its AI capabilities, and the company's advertising business remains healthy. My view is that Muse's monetization could provide significant new revenue sources and, in the long run, the AI agent will help justify Meta's investments.

3. Amazon

Amazon's cloud business is booming, partly thanks to AI. During the second quarter, Amazon Web Services (AWS) reported its fastest growth rate in 18 quarters. That's a notable achievement, and what's even more exciting is that Amazon is seeing significant demand for its services several years ahead -- it is capacity constrained in the near term and has received orders for 2028.

Meanwhile, the company is working on various initiatives that could help it decrease operating costs. Amazon is increasingly using internally developed custom AI chips, which are often more cost-effective than those it buys from other corporations.

Let's also not ignore the impact AI could have on Amazon's core e-commerce business, which is still, by far, its biggest source of revenue. Various AI tools could improve consumers' search capabilities, making it easier for them to find exactly what they want. Others are helping merchants write better product descriptions faster and automate various other tasks.

These tools could help boost revenue while reducing expenses. Amazon's e-commerce business is a low-margin operation, but AI could help improve margins -- and even minor margin gains could mean billions more in profit over the long run at Amazon's scale. And of course, the company also benefits from a wide moat that stems from multiple sources, including its brand name, network effects, and switching costs. All these factors make Amazon a particularly attractive stock to buy and hold for the long term.
