Anthropic Publicly Files for Nasdaq IPO: Half-Year Revenue of $16.3 Billion, Net Loss of $80.7 Billion

Source Tradingkey

TradingKey - On October 26, Eastern Time, artificial intelligence company Anthropic publicly filed registration documents for an initial public offering (IPO), planning to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol "ANT".

The filing shows that for the six months ended June 30, 2026, Anthropic's revenue grew from approximately $1.2 billion in the same period of 2025 to $16.3 billion.

During the same period, the company's net loss widened from approximately $12.9 billion to $80.7 billion, of which about $72.4 billion resulted from fair value changes in financing instruments such as convertible notes, derivative liabilities, and agreements for future equity, primarily related to the rise in the company's valuation.

Excluding these impacts, its operating performance still warrants attention. The company recorded an operating loss of approximately $693 million during the period, with expenditures on computing resources and infrastructure approaching $9 billion. As the scale of model training and commercial services expands, whether computing costs can be effectively controlled will impact its future profitability.

Enterprise Clients Grow Rapidly, Revenue Concentration Risk Remains

As of September 30, 2026, Anthropic had over 11,900 customers contributing at least $100,000 in revenue over the past 12 months, up from 950 in the year-ago period, demonstrating a continued expansion of its enterprise customer base.

However, roughly one-fifth of the company's first-half revenue came from two customers, indicating a degree of revenue concentration risk. Going forward, attention should be paid to procurement and contract renewals by major clients, as well as whether enterprise customer growth can continue to support revenue expansion.

Long-Term Computing Power Commitments Increase Financial Pressure

To support model training and commercial services, Anthropic has entered into long-term agreements with multiple cloud service providers and computing resource suppliers. While these arrangements help secure computing power supply, they also increase future capital requirements.

Investors should focus on the payment schedules of long-term contracts, whether computing investments match revenue growth, and the impact of infrastructure spending on operating profits and cash flows.

In addition, Anthropic plans to allocate a 5% stake to a public interest fund, though this arrangement remains subject to shareholder approval. The company also stated that it will continue research into AI safety and interpretability, reflecting its commitment to public interest goals.

This IPO will test the capital market's willingness to value high-growth AI companies. Anthropic's net loss of $80.7 billion in the first half of the year was primarily driven by non-cash accounting items, such as changes in the fair value of financing instruments, and cannot be directly viewed as the actual scale of loss from its core business.

Investors still need to monitor operating losses, cash flow, and computing power expenditures to judge whether the company's business growth can gradually improve its financial performance.

Going forward, whether the company can sustain revenue growth, improve operating performance, and generate corresponding returns on its long-term computing investments will be crucial in evaluating its listing value.
