Poland shares higher at close of trade; WIG30 up 1.93%

Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Food sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.93%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 4.37% or 3.82 points to trade at 91.22 at the close. Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) added 3.87% or 2.16 points to end at 57.96 and Dino Polska SA (WA:DNP) was up 3.68% or 12.20 points to 343.90 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Grupa KĘTY SA (WA:KTY), which lost 1.69% or 11.50 points to trade at 669.00 in late trade. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 0.92% or 0.03 points to end at 3.67 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) shed 0.81% or 0.09 points to 11.05.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 252 to 246 and 116 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 2.65% or 1.84 to $71.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 2.46% or 1.80 to hit $74.90 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 1.70 to trade at $2,747.50 a troy ounce.

EUR/PLN was down 0.12% to 4.35, while USD/PLN fell 0.62% to 4.00.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 103.71.
