On its fiscal fourth-quarter and full-year 2026 earnings call, held on Oct. 22, 2026, Lindsay (NYSE:LNN) detailed its plan to simplify operations and protect operating margins. Subdued farm economics create near-term pressure across irrigation markets. High-margin technology expansion offers a path toward steady long-term earnings. Three things management said stand out.

1. Operational Restructuring Unlocks $8 Million in Annual Savings

Management streamlined operations in June to remove organizational complexity. The cost cuts immediately reduce overhead in fiscal 2027 while preserving key investments in high-priority growth initiatives.

We expect these actions to generate $8 million in net annualized cost reductions after reinvesting a portion of the savings in our highest-priority growth initiatives.
-- Randy Wood, Chief Executive Officer and President

2. AgTech Subscriptions Build High-Margin Recurring Revenue

Annual recurring revenue, or predictable subscription software sales, expanded as precision irrigation tools attached to more equipment. Software subscriptions cushion the business against cyclical swings in farm equipment spending.

Annual recurring revenue grew approximately 11% year-over-year, extending our 5-year CAGR to more than 15%.
-- Randy Wood, Chief Executive Officer and President

3. Middle East Project Gaps Leave a Near-Term Sales Hole

Deliveries wrapped up on an $80 million Middle East contract that generated $70 million in equipment revenue during fiscal 2026. Without a massive replacement project ready to ship immediately, international equipment sales face a temporary step down.

While the project pipeline remains active, we do not currently anticipate any large project awards to begin delivery in fiscal 2027.
-- Randy Wood, Chief Executive Officer and President

Looking Ahead

Commercial road safety products and highway infrastructure funding continue to drive growth, buffering agricultural softness. Management relies on balance sheet strength to fund targeted acquisitions, such as Brazilian hose reel maker Setorial, while managing raw material input costs.

Our strong balance sheet and cash flow generation provide the flexibility to execute against our capital allocation priorities.
-- Alicia Pfeifer, Co-Interim Chief Financial Officer

Long-term earnings expansion depends on executing cost reductions and deepening recurring software sales across international markets.

Our leadership team and Board remain focused on delivering sustainable long-term value, and we believe Lindsay is well positioned to benefit as our markets recover.
-- Randy Wood, Chief Executive Officer and President
