CoinShares Research Head Predicts Bitcoin Between $80,000 to $150,000 in 2025

James Butterfill, head of research at CoinShares, shared his outlook for Bitcoin’s price trajectory in 2025. He projected potential peaks at $150,000 and corrections down to $80,000.

Butterfill is one of the many crypto leaders who expects BTC to go beyond the $150,000 mark this year, despite current liquidations.

Most Bitcoin Price Predictions are Bullish for 2025

Speaking to CNBC, Butterfill explained that while these numbers are plausible for next year. Reaching $250,000, which reflects 25% of gold’s market share, is more of a long-term expectation.

Currently, Bitcoin accounts for about 10% of gold’s market value. The CoinShares leader emphasized that such milestones would take time.

“Timing this precisely is challenging, and I don’t expect the $250,000 valuation by 2025. However, Bitcoin is likely to move in that direction over time,” said Butterfill.

He suggested that both $80,000 and $150,000 are achievable during 2025. The lower-end $80,000 price point is linked to potential setbacks if pro-crypto policies, such as those proposed by US President Donald Trump, fail to materialize.

A supportive regulatory environment in the US remains the primary factor driving Bitcoin prices, according to most experts.

Other Firms Forecast Higher BTC Valuations

CoinShares is not alone in presenting bullish projections for Bitcoin. Bitwise Asset Management anticipates Bitcoin reaching $200,000 by the close of 2025. This would significantly benefit companies with large crypto holdings, such as MicroStrategy.

Meanwhile, VanEck has offered a long-term prediction that Bitcoin might soar to $3 million by 2050. This is likely to be driven by the asset’s potential adoption as a reserve asset.

The firm’s analysis points to Bitcoin’s inverse correlation with the US dollar and its positive correlation with M2 money supply growth as factors supporting its bullish stance.

Also, institutional investors continue to warm to Bitcoin. Analysts at BlackRock have suggested allocating 1% to 2% of traditional investment portfolios to BTC. This reflects a significant shift in mainstream acceptance of the cryptocurrency.

Additionally, countries including Russia, Japan, the US, and Switzerland have introduced proposals to establish national Bitcoin reserves, further bolstering confidence in its future.

Pantera Capital, known for its high returns through its Bitcoin Fund, predicts BTC could reach $117,000 by 2025 and as much as $740,000 by 2028. These predictions underscore the growing belief in Bitcoin’s ability to deliver substantial returns over the coming years.
