Strategy generated $19.1 billion in net income during the third quarter.
The company accumulated $5.1 billion in dollar reserves to cover interest payments on debt.
The net balance sheet leverage dropped to 2.4%.
On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Oct. 29, 2026, Strategy (NASDAQ:MSTR) reported $19.1 billion in net income as its balance sheet holdings grew to 848,517 Bitcoin.
The results showcase how the company uses fixed-income digital credit instruments to fund asset purchases while insulating its balance sheet against market downturns. Three takeaways from management's comments stand out for long-term investors.
Management transitioned its Stretch (NASDAQ:STRC) preferred stock, a tradable high-yield digital credit fixed-income share, to daily dividend payments to expand investor demand and align with 24/7 trading markets. The move aims to dampen price swings in its yield products while distributing cash to holders on every calendar day.
Smaller, more frequent payments are designed to reduce volatility, improve liquidity, broaden investor demand, and get cash to investors sooner. Calendar day accruals also make Stretch and our pref's better suited to the future of tokenized products and increasingly around-the-clock markets.

Management accumulated $5.1 billion in U.S. dollar (USD) cash assets to back its capital structure and reassure income investors. These liquid reserves cover 3.4 years of interest and dividend obligations, providing a deep buffer against potential prolonged weakness in digital asset prices.
Our USD assets provide 3.4 years of interest and dividends coverage at current payment obligations. We have approximately $6.7 billion of total convertible debt outstanding, compared with the $69 billion of Bitcoin and $5.1 billion of USD assets, representing a BTC Rating of 42x.

Strategy lowered its net leverage, the ratio of debt minus cash to total assets, to 2.4% while expanding its treasury to 848,517 Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC). Management engineered this balance sheet buffer so that Bitcoin prices would need to drop another 78% before the asset's value fell below total debt obligations.
We reduced our net leverage to 2.4%, down from 8.4% in Q2. Our downside is really now well-protected, where Bitcoin could fall 78% to $18,000 before we are 1x covered for our liabilities by our Bitcoin asset value.
-- Phong Le, President and Chief Executive Officer
Institutional adoption of digital assets is accelerating as major banks extend credit. Strategy retains structural advantages through its unencumbered asset reserve and cash buffer, positioning it to scale digital credit while maintaining capital discipline.
We feel like we are entering a bull market. We bounced off the 200-week moving average. Bitcoin's dominance is growing. Institutional demand is back. The banks are embracing Bitcoin. We feel like digital credit and banking credit could absorb all the new supply.
-- Michael Saylor, Founder and Executive Chairman
Management is focused on maintaining credit quality while expanding its fixed-income product suite.
We have been building a fortress balance sheet so that as we enter a bull cycle, we think we can outperform the last bull cycle that we went through.
-- Phong Le, President and Chief Executive Officer
