On its third quarter of 2026 earnings call, held on Oct. 20, 2026, Aeroméxico (NYSE:AERO) reported total quarterly revenue of $1.62 billion. Higher-margin premium offerings and expanded loyalty participation are improving revenue quality across the network. Efficient fleet utilization helps shield operating margins against volatile fuel prices. Three takeaways from the call stand out for long-term investors.
Aeroméxico restructured its branded ticket options to match customer willingness to pay. Premium seating and upgraded fares now account for 42% of total passenger revenue, lifting average revenue per passenger.
Regarding modern airline retailing, our redesigned branded fare structure is driving significant incremental revenue by better aligning our product offering with different customer needs and willingness to pay.
-- Aaron James Murray, Chief Commercial Officer
The U.S. Department of Transportation rescinded its prior order restricting scheduled service to Mexican airlines. Aeroméxico gains flexibility to add flight frequencies and launch new transborder routes connecting the adjacent countries starting in 2027.
This gives us greater flexibility to capture attractive growth opportunities, strengthen our trans-border network, and offer our customers more connectivity between Mexico and the United States.
-- Andrés Conesa Labastida, Chief Executive Officer
Participation in the Aeroméxico Rewards program climbed to 40% of passengers, up 8 percentage points year over year. Deepening loyalty engagement drives repeat bookings through direct online channels, which remained at an all-time high 48% of sales.
Premium revenue represented 42% of total revenue, up one percentage point year over year, while loyalty penetration reached 40%, an 8-point increase versus last year.
-- Andrés Conesa Labastida, Chief Executive Officer
Operating efficiency is gaining ground as fleet utilization improves, reinforcing underlying profit margins against fuel volatility. Aeroméxico relies on its primary hub position in Mexico City, a growing long-haul international network, and robust loyalty engagement to maintain pricing discipline.
This is important because it demonstrates that beyond the temporary impact of fuel, we believe that the underlying business is moving in the right direction. We have improving cost momentum and a stronger foundation for sustainable profitability.
-- Andrés Conesa Labastida, Chief Executive Officer
Disciplined capital allocation and steady cash generation support ongoing investments without taking on new debt.
Our structural advantages and strong cash flow generation should continue to reinforce our competitive position, and we believe that the gap between us and our Mexican competitors should continue to widen in the following months.
-- Ricardo Javier Sánchez Baker, Chief Financial Officer
